Colors and product images
We photograph our garments in natural light and edit as little as possible. Even so, screens vary. The shade of a saree on your phone will not always match the shade in person, and metallic zari, sequins, and silk in particular photograph differently than they look in the hand.
If exact color matching matters for your order — matching a bridal party, for instance — call or book a video appointment before you buy. We'd rather show you the fabric on camera than have you guess.
Handcrafted variation
Much of what we sell is handwoven, hand-embroidered, or hand-blocked by artisans in India. Slight irregularities in weave, print alignment, thread density, and embroidery placement are inherent to that process. They are not defects, and no two pieces will be identical.
Machine-perfect uniformity is a feature of powerloom goods. It is not what you are buying from us.
Sizing and fit
Measurements listed on our site are approximate and are taken flat unless stated otherwise. Sizing conventions differ between Indian and U.S. labels, and between designers within India.
Blouse pieces supplied with sarees are unstitched or semi-stitched unless the listing says otherwise, and will require tailoring. We recommend an in-store fitting or a video consultation before purchase.
Fabric care
Care instructions we provide are general guidance based on the fabric and construction. We recommend dry cleaning for silk, zari work, and any embellished garment. Desi Threads Boutique is not responsible for damage resulting from washing, ironing, storage, or cleaning methods used after purchase.
Pricing and availability
Prices, promotions, and stock levels are subject to change without notice. We carry pieces in small quantities sourced directly from India, so an item may sell out before the site updates.
We make every effort to keep listings accurate, but we do not warrant that product descriptions, pricing, or other content on this site is error-free. Where an error occurs, we reserve the right to correct it and to cancel or decline any order placed at an incorrect price.
Sourcing and import
Our merchandise is sourced and exported from India through DTB Exim, our export arm. Statements about origin, fabric, and technique reflect information provided by our suppliers and verified by our team in India to the best of our ability.
Where a garment is described by a regional name Banarasi, Chikankari, bandhani, and so on that describes the technique and origin of the work as represented to us. It is not a certification mark.
